New SMP Update released

We continually upgrade SMP, adding new features and making old features better. SMP 5.20, has recently been released and your database has been updated for the new upgrade.  The first time you log into SMP you will be prompted with a window letting you know an upgrade is available. The download file is called SMP Pro 5.20 Update. You can download it at http://www.salesmanagementplus.com/DownloadCentral.htm . We highly recommend upgrading as soon as possible so that you can take advantage of the new features as soon as possible.

New Features in Rev 5.20
  • Returned e-mail maintenance- For easier maintenance of email addresses returned as undeliverable from a marketing campaign 
  • Marketing Lists- The ability to add a contact to a marketing list from the Contact screen is now easier and more intuitive.
  • Market Analysis- A new comparison has been added to the Market analysis screen allowing you to compare last years business with this years run rate by a certain percentage
  •  Prj Yr-Prev Yr Sell Gain > X%  - Projects out the current years sales for a full 12 months and returns all customer whose run rate is currently X% over last year
  • Prj Yr-Prev Yr GP Gain >X% - Projects out the current years GP for a full 12 months and returns all customer whose run rate is currently X% over last year
  • Prj Yr-Prev Yr Sell Drop > X% - Projects out the current years sales for a full 12 months and returns all customer whose run rate is currently X% under last year
  • Prj Yr-Prev Yr GP Drop >X% - Projects out the current years GP for a full 12 months and returns all customer whose run rate is currently X% under  last year
  • While using the "Synching with Outlook" feature you can now change the contacts address in Outlook and it will automatically synch with the Addl Address fields in the contact form and visa versa.
  • Clicking on the hyper linked Product groupings in the Customer Sales tab will automatically open the Product Level 3 Sales Detail screen for the selected group.
  • The "Help" button is now enabled giving users up to the minute help
  • Projects- A "Go" button has been added to direct you to the customer page
  • E-mail template selection- When sending an email to a contact directly form the customer page you can now choose to select template email from Outlook which you have designed previously 


New Phone Number for Support We have moved into a new location and with that we have a new phone number for all support and customer service calls. You can now reach us at 949-258-0410. 

Tips and tricks

Market Analysis- Creating Customer lists

While working in Market Analysis you might find it necessary to perform two or three queries to produce the customer list you want. You do have the ability to merge these queries into one customer list. 

Perhaps you want to perform a query on all customers who are currently purchasing over $100 in Lamps, Lighting and Ballasts because you are doing a big marketing blitz to grow all that business and you want to be able to track the accounts later. 

Because we have chosen 3 different Product Level 1 groups we need to run three different queries.

First, lets run a query on all the customers who purchased over $100.00 in Lamps. We quickly scroll through the list and see several customers whom we know we don't need to target. Deselect them by unclicking the Slct checkbox next to the customers name and changing the Select Criteria to Selected Only as shown in the example below. Click RUN. Save the list in File, Customer List, Save As. Give the new list a name and description. Create the second list. When saving, select the previously created list and choose to "Add to" this list. It will append the newly created list to the previously created list.

Continue in this manner until your customer list is created.

When all your lists are appended you can now open the list as a complete list. You can create a sales report showing sales for the entire group,  create a marketing list by choosing the Mailer Module. After the marketing Blitz is over you can bring the original customer list back up and compare the sales to the previously created report from before the Blitz. (Which of course you saved in Excel after generating it or printed it up!)

We have been working hard to provide you with more help while using SMP. As mentioned above, SMP's Help is now connected and available either in or out of SMP. From within SMP, click the Help button.
