Querying in Market Analysis
- You are capable of querying on multiple criteria.
- Customer
- Territory Level
- Account Manager
- SIC codes
- Zip codes
- Your custom programmable fields
- Product Level 1,2 3
- YTD Sell
- Comparison of last year to this years run rate
- see screen shot above for all the various options
- Select the filter criteria you wish to filter on:
- Selecting the check box "not" will exclude the filter
criteria from the list. For example, if you are putting together a
mailing list you would not want your "competitor" on that
list. From the General Class drop down, select "competitor"
and click "not"
- When filtering by Sales Figures you can change the "Greater
than" > symbol to "Less Than" < by clicking the
check box
- Filtering by Product Levels
- Product Levels must be selected in order.
- If you would like to select by a specific manufacture
- Select the Prod Level 1 that manufacture falls under
- Select Product level 2 the manufacture would fall under
- Select the Manufacturer from Product Level 3
- To delete a Filter Criteria
- Highlight the Filter criteria you wish to remove and click delete
- To Search using a Wildcard
- Through out SMP the wildcard symbol is %
- To Compare last year with this years Run rate
- Prj Yr-Prev Yr Sell Gain > X% - Projects out the
current years sales for a full 12 months and returns all customer whose
run rate is currently X% over last year
- Prj Yr-Prev Yr GP Gain >X% - Projects out the current years GP for
a full 12 months and returns all customer whose run rate is currently X%
over last year
- Prj Yr-Prev Yr Sell Drop > X% - Projects out the current years
sales for a full 12 months and returns all customer whose run rate is
currently X% under last year
- Prj Yr-Prev Yr GP Drop >X% - Projects out the current years GP for
a full 12 months and returns all customer whose run rate is currently X%
under last year
Creating Customer lists:
Creating lists of customers is a great way to generate reports and mailing
lists on more than one set of filter criteria's.
Often you will have a need to filter by non-similar criteria and save them
into a common list. For example, you may want to generate a customer list for 2
or more account managers. Creating Customer Lists from within Market
Analysis will allow you to do just that.
- Run your first Filter, generating the list of customers you desire.
- Click "File", "Customer List"
- Click "Save" . You will be prompted to name your list and give
it a description
- Run your second Filter, generating your second list of customer
- Click "File, "Customer List"
- Select your list by highlighting the arrow to the left of the list name.
- Select "Add To" . It will ask if you are wanting to append your
current list to the existing list. Click Yes
Hint: By selecting "Add To" you will be appending the data to the
existing list. By selecting "Save" you will overwrite the
existing list. By Selecting "Save As" you can save the list under a
different name.
- By opening your compiled list all the customers you have selected in the
various filters will be visible. You can use this list
for mailing or to print reports
